Total obedience to God, way out of hardship – Adeboye tells Nigerians

The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has said that the surest way to escape all forms of hardship and delay is to live a life of total obedience to God.
The clergy made this known in a message he delivered last Sunday at the special prayer service, themed – ‘No More Delay’, organised for all youths, matured singles and their families at RCCG, Throne of Grace (TOG), National Headquarters, Ebute Metta.
He uttered that God is not looking for obedience but total obedience, a condition he said is crucial to receiving from God.
“Some of us think we are obedient but God is not looking for obedience but total obedience. Jesus will never delay anything that pertaineth to His friends. The reason why we are suffering delay is that we are not totally surrendering to God’s will. Make your choice God’s choice whatever he asks you to do, do it.
“Many at times what we call delay is for God’s purpose to be fulfilled and for greater glory to be revealed. God has a time table which will come at His own time. For those that think that God has forgotten them, no, he has something bigger. God works according to His timetable. There is a secret; there is a way that you can ask him to fast forward the timetable. If you are willing and obedient you will eat the good of the land,” Pastor Adeboye stated.
Additionally, in a chat with the media at the end of the service, Pastor Adebayo Adeyemo, who spoke on behalf of Pastor Adeboye said every Christian must be read to stand in righteousness and holiness, especially at a time like this when corruption seems to be the order of the day.
He also said that Christians should take up the responsibility of hearing from God themselves rather than depend on their leaders to do the hearing.
The Christian leader advised youths in particularly to seek God’s face, acquire skills and think creatively in proffering solutions to the current economic situation crunch.
On the issue of fund looting, he asked that prayers  be made for God to change the heart of Nigerians for national repentance.
“Christians should continue to pray for the nation. For humans to keep huge amounts then we need more prayers to touch the hearts of people to repent. We need national repentance. We need to pray for love so these people will see that people are suffering. If the figures of looted funds are true then a lot has been wasted over the years,” the cleric said.

And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’
