Pastor Escapes From Kidnappers’ Den After 132 Days

A pastor who was kidnapped by some unidentified gunmen on May 25 along DSC Expressway in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, on Monday escaped from his abductors and assisted security agents in the arrest of a suspected gun runner in connection with his kidnap.

The pastor, identified as Mr. Rotimi Adebusola, is attached to the Agbarho branch of the Living Faith Church, aka Winners Chapel, and was held captive inside a building at a bush located at Arhavwarien in Ughelli South Local Government Area.

His escape, however, led to the arrest of owner of the building, identified as Samuel George, at Okpe-Olomu who is alleged by security sources to a suspected gun runner.

Making the disclosure to Vanguard, a senior member of Ughelli vigilante, popularly referred to as Bakassi, explained that the pastor while in captivity, noticed that the two persons standing guard were asleep, capitalized on it and escaped into the village where he raised an alarm.

According to the vigilante member, immediately the Ughelli local vigilante got wind of the incident, other vigilantes from Otor-Ogor and Edjekota were alerted and they located the building where the pastor was held, but failed to apprehend the two sleeping guards, identified as Onos and Godspower, who had already taken to their heels with the escape of the pastor.
