Songwriter and worship leader, Frank Madumere also known as Dr. FM just released a new music titled “Promise Keeper”. It seems to me as though it is becoming a custom for Dr. FM to release new music in December. “Promise Keeper” is coming around the same period that he released his last single – “Special Child”.
This song is simply a song of gratitude and according to the singer, the inspiration to write this song came to him as he was recounting all that God did for him in 2020 despite the distress that came with the year.
“Promise Keeper” is a song that everyone can relate to. The classic afro fusion sound is exactly what you need to experience that early morning praise. You would still not be able to ignore a hint of sweet orthodox traditional sound that reflects in this beat. DR FM‘s gratitude song has such simple and repetitive but catchy lyrics that easily grow on you. With lyrics like
“Okwenkwa okwenkwa mee ya/You have done what you said you will do”. This sound is a whole world different from what we are used to hearing from the Owerri based singer. We are not surprised. After all, 2020 has been a usual year.
