A bomb went off at Saint Charles Catholic Church, Kano, Sunday morning.
Five parishioners including a soldier were reported to have been killed by the explosion, while eight others including security men were wounded.
The incident was confirmed by the Nigerian Police via it official twitter account, they wrote:
“Five persons (2M, 2F &1 Soldier) killed at St Charles Family Church #Kano 1;30pm today when IED believed to have been tossed into the church by a suspect from across the road went off. Eight other persons were injured and taken to hospital. #NPFalert”
