ABUJA – As Christian faithful celebrate Easter, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Sen. Bala Mohammed, has called on FCT residents to spread the gospel of love, sacrifice, tolerance and peace.
This is contained in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by Mr Muhammad Sule, the Chief Press Secretary to the FCT Minister.
The minister made this call in his Easter message as Christians all over the world commemorate the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
He congratulated the FCT residents, particularly the Christians, saying that the celebration called for sober reflection as well as emulating the exemplary life of Jesus Christ.
He also urged Nigerians to re-dedicate themselves to the service of God and humanity to make the world a better place.
Mohammed implored Nigerians to continue to supplicate for peace and prosperity to reign in the nation, especially with the current security challenges in the country.
“As you pray for the nation, I enjoin you to also pray for its leadership, for God to continue to guide, protect and also “give President Goodluck Jonathan the strength and wisdom to steer the affairs of the country,” he said.
He further commiserated with those that lost their loved ones and those that survived but sustained various degrees of injury in the recent Nyanya bomb blast.
He assured that the FCT Administration in collaboration with the security agencies were committed to protecting the lives and property of all the residents of the territory.
The minister advised FCT residents to be security conscious and report any suspicious movement to the law enforcement agents, saying “security is everybody’s business’’.
