A 20-year old man, Bulus Musa, was on Monday sentenced to six weeks imprisonment by an Abuja Upper Area Court sitting in Karu for stealing some musical instrument belonging to Royal Ambassador’s Church, Nyanya.
Musa had admitted before Judge Umar Yusuf Kagarko that he stole amplifier and mixer from the said church on February 10. The judge however gave him a fine option of N6,000.
Earlier, Prosecutor, Silas Nanpan, informed the court that on February 10, one Deacon Justice Chubueze, of Royal Ambassador’s Church, Nyanya, reported to Nyanya Police Station that on the same date the accused broke into the church and stole some musical instruments.
Nampan informed that investigation revealed that on January 14, the convict was earlier arraigned in another court for the same offence, adding that the offence contravened Sections 353 and 288 of the Penal Code. The convict, who admitted the charge, confessed to have been stealing for a very long time.
