The police deputy public relations officer, CSP Abayomi Shogunle made this known yesterday in a statement in which he said the IGP had also ordered adequate security at venues where Muslims break their fast in the evening.

According to Shogunle, the police boss also placed a ban on street hawking and other forms of trading on Abuja roads and highways.

He advised worshippers to be vigilant and report suspicious cases to the police.

“Adequate security has also been ordered for venues where Muslims break fast in the evenings. Worshipers are advised to be vigilant, and promptly report to the police any suspicious persons or substance found in or around their environment.

“In a similar development, a ban has been placed on street hawking and all forms of trading on Abuja roads/highways, especially road intersections, traffic light points and traffic hold-ups,” he said.

Shogunle also stated that unauthorised taxi parks and bus-stops formed around the Abuja Federal Secretariat, are now prohibited, stressing that only bus and taxis painted in authorised commercial colours would be allowed to operate at designated taxi parks and bus-stops.

He warned that violators would be apprehended and prosecuted.
