President Goodluck Jonathan has held a meeting with the head of the Anglican Communion and Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, in the Presidential Villa.
Archbishop Welby came into the Villa in the company of the Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Nicholas Oko, the secretary of the Christian Pilgrims Board, Mr John Kennedy Opara.
After the meeting, the Anglican Archbishop told reporters that he came to hold a prayer session with the president over recent events in the country, especially the bombings in Jos and terror attacks in other north eastern States.
He said that he was very familiar with Jos and Nigeria in general and condemned the abduction of the Chibok girls.
He expressed hopes that like what happened in the biblical era, Nigeria would pull through the trying times.
