ASABA—CHAIRMAN of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Ughelli North Local Government Area chapter, Delta State, Rt. Rev Diamond Emuobor, has decried what he described as the unwarranted attacks targeted at the National President of the association, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, over the alleged use of his private jet to smuggle $9.3 million into South Africa.
Emuobor, in a statement yesterday, told Oritsejafor’s critics to leave the clergy man out of their dirty politics, noting that the CAN President “is a man of integrity. He is a renowned world leader and preacher.
“The world and Nigerians are aware that elements in the northern part of Nigeria are the ones using public funds to cause mayhem in the country. None of them has been queried over the senseless massacre of Christians and a negligent few of the Muslims in that part of our country.
“Sitting governors, prominent politicians, and devout religious personalities in the north are dismembering Nigeria in their quest to possess the country as their emirate. None from the Christian position has leveled any attack at the eminent persons of the Muslim religion because Christianity thought us to honour leaders.”
