Talented and famous Nigerian gospel musician, Tope Alabi was honoured by a New York State Senator, Ruben Diaz, on Sunday 9, October 2016, in the US.
The singer was awarded during the COGA Rehoboth Convention held in New York, for her dedication to her community.
The statement in the proclamation by Senator Ruben Diaz reads:
“I, New York State Senator Ruben Diaz, recognise that in Tope Alabi we have an individual worthy of our highest respect and esteem; and be it further.
“It is fit and proper to recognise the achievements of individuals who substantially contribute to the vitality of their communities and the entire Empire State”.
In her remarks, the singer commended the effort of the Senator for honouring her.
“I return the glory to you Lord God for the proclamation Award from the NEW YORK STATE SENATE. I will not leave your path, Lord. Please friends glorify God with me because He alone deserves all the glory,” she said.
