The wait is over and the Nigeria Entertainment Awards (NEA Awards) is proud to officially announce that this year’s event will be hosted by comedian Bovi Ugboma, superstar actress Funke Akindele and top on-air personality Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi. All three talents represent the diverse sectors within Nigeria’s growing entertainment industry.
Over the last couple of years, Bovi has become a household name in the Nigerian comedy scene headlining the biggest events and delivering rib-cracking performances. Bovi will be hosting the NEA Awards for the first time but he is no stranger to the big stage as he has held multiple sold out shows in UK and different cities in Nigeria as part of his ‘Man on Fire’ Tour. Nollywood actress Funke Akindele remains a fan favorite in New York City. Her stellar performances leave the fans wanting more of her and her evitable return to the NEA stage. Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi aka Ms. 411 of Nigeria Radio is a voice familiar to many. The NEA stage is next for her after recent coverage of the just concluded BET Awards and World Cup live.
For the first time in its nine year history, the awards will unveil billboards in three strategic locations in Lagos state powered by Platinum entertainment.
