Police arraigns man for stealing church property

The Police in Edo State on Wednesday arraigned one Courage Odaja at an Egor Chief Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing property belonging to Christ Chosen Church.
Items reportedly stolen by the accused are – one LG Plasma Television, one LG television, adaptor and a cash of N1, 220.
The offence was committed on September 19.
Courage was arraigned on a two- count charge of stealing, an offence punishable under section 516 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 48.
Trial Magistrate, Maria Ojobo, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200, 000 and a surety in like sum.
The surety must be gainfully employed.
The case was adjourned to January 6, 2015.
Also, a serial thief, Osaretin Imafidon, was remanded in prison for stealing recharge cards worth N22, 000.
Osaretin was remanded after the court was informed that he was standing trial in several other courts for stealing.
He reportedly stole the recharge cards at No 2 Eguobamense Street, Ugbioghoko quarters in Egor local government area of the state.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The presiding Magistrate, Igho Braimah, remanded him in prison and adjourned the case to February 26, 2015.
