The Senior Pastor of the House on the Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin has carpeted men of God, who are engaging in political campaigns ahead of the 2015 elections.
His assertion also answers the question on the lips of many who have wondered why President Jonathan has not visited the Lekki, Lagos based cathedral.
Adefarasin barred his mind while reviewing last week’s screening of award-winning Hollywood movie, Selma which premiered in his church.
Speaking shortly before delivering his Sunday sermon yesterday, Adefarasin told the congregation: “I must say to you that pastors who join in these political campaigns are not wise.”
For the avoidance of doubt, he reiterated, “House on the Rock is not a partisan organisation or a political platform.” Adefarasin maintained that the pulpit is not the best avenue to take a stand or advise members on which party or candidates they must vote for.
“I don’t belong to APC and PDP. I don’t belong to any political party. I belong to Jesus party. I am interested in God’s agenda in Nigeria,” he added.
He condemned the manner in which some of the political campaigns have been conducted, describing the desperation from the two leading parties as “sad and sorry”.
