Just a few months after she recorded a song “Celebrate” with Grammy nominee Da T.R.U.T.H and also played host to the Love, Hope and War tour concert in Lagos, Nigeria, the female gospel rap queen, BOUQUI, has been offered a recording deal by Xist Music USA, one of America’s leading recording labels and home to many US top gospel artistes.
Xist Music USA has on its wings great gospel acts including DA T.R.U.T.H, The Ambassador, Jahaziel, Sean Simmonds, Yaves and N.F.
It was learnt that BOUQUI was signed on as the first African artiste and the first female act on the label.
The breakthrough deal includes international recordings with all Xist Music artistes and other relevant artistes in the world and an intensive distribution of BOUQUI’s album and materials in the USA and the UK.
The deal will also see BOUQUI becoming the President of Xist Africa, a new partnership with her recording label outfit “Bouqui’s Place Entertainment” joining forces with Xist Music USA to expand the scope of the business in Nigeria and Africa.
Speaking on the deal, BOUQUI described it as “another milestone reached in the history of the Nigerian music industry and hoped that the deal will throw more doors open in the Gospel hip hop scene internationally with Xist Music Africa setting up in Nigeria.
The Bouqui Xist Music deal is coming after the Nigerian music industry had witnessed a lot of international deals including that of D’Banj’s RCA Sony distribution deal, and Wizkid and P Squares’ Konvict music deal
BOUQUI, born Bukola Folayan will be kicking off her Xist Music exploration with an all stars song which will feature some of the artistes under the Xist Music Imprint including Sean Simmonds and Jahaziel in the next few weeks.
