Seven people escaped death on Thursday after a four-storey building under construction collapsed on a church building in the Sabo, Yaba area of Lagos State.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the building collapsed around 2pm while the seven men, who were working on the building, were on break.
A part of the building was said to have fallen on a church which was behind it.
Our correspondent was told that nobody died or sustained injury in the incident.
The General Manager of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Mr. Michael Akindele, confirmed the incident, adding that two other buildings were affected.
He said, “It is a four-storey building which is under construction. It collapsed at about 2.30pm. Our men got there within 15 minutes of the incident. As I speak with you, there is no casualty and nobody is being trapped.
“About two other buildings which surround the place have been affected. We are also working on that.”
The spokesperson for the National Emergency Management Agency, South West zone, Ibrahim Farinloye, said work was ongoing at the site to clear the debris.
