The training programme was organised in conjunction with the state’s Ministry of Education,Science and Technology and was held in Gboko LGA. The aim of the programme was to demonstrate the possibilities of the partnership between the church, the state and organized private sector.

The convener of the training, Brother Gbile Akanni explained that the training was organised to support the Governor Samuel Ortom’s administration in the growth of quality education.

Performing the opening ceremony, Governor Ortom explained that the decision of his administration to enhance teachers’ capacity was borne out of the understanding that teaching must not only be based on informing, but guidance and mentoring.

According to him, the training will improve teaching techniques of the staff to rejuvenate the economy.

He said the workshop shall expose teachers to new trends and effective methodology in teaching as well as curriculum development.

Ortom, however warned against the establishment of illegal schools known as miracle centres, insisting that such ugly trend is intellectual corruption which is not acceptable.
