The General Overseer of Deeper Life Christian Ministry, Dr William Kumuyi has called on Nigerians not to be discouraged by the problems facing the country. Kumuyi stated this on Wednesday during his two-day ministerial visit and campus crusade organized by the Campus Christian Mobilisation Committee of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.
Kumuyi urged “Nigerians to take their destiny into their hands”. “People should not be discouraged by whatever problems they are facing now, either as individuals or as a nation.”
He buttressed his encouragement by describing the different types of people on earth, saying some of them saw themselves as “grasshoppers’ and those who perceived themselves as “conquerors.”
He said, “Nigerians should put their trust in God and never be discouraged by any obstacles that may intimidate them to look inferior in their own eyes.
“There is a need to be like the Biblical Caleb, who never allowed the towering, scary figure of the giants they saw to dissuade them from entering the land of Canaan. Caleb gave a positive accounts of what they saw and encouraged others to be optimistic. You are what you think you are.”
