Fraudsters Impersonating Me, Says Oyedepo

Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church, popularly known as Winners Chapel, has lamented that himself and his church are being impersonated on social media.

Our correspondent counted over 300 Facebook accounts of Bishop David Oyedepo alone and several others of his church with different photographs portraying him as the owner of the account.

Some of the accounts also carried photographs of him and his wife as well as some prayers and messages.

These alleged fraudsters, the church said, have cloned the church’s account on various social media platforms to obtain funds from unsuspecting victims.

As read by one of the pastors in the church in its fourth service, the church said that the Bishop or the church does not solicit for funds through social media..

It therefore warned the church members, Nigerians and followers of the church to avoid being defrauded saying the official Facebook page of the church is ‘David Oyedepo Ministries international Inc’.

Many Nigerians and institutions have had cause to cry out over the activities of fraudsters who clone their accounts to defraud people.

Some of these include former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos, Prophet T.B. Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Custom Service.
