Men Who Kidnapped Reverend Sisters in Ondo, Apprehended


The five men who are suspected to have kidnapped two reverend sisters in Ondo State have been apprehended by detectives.
 
Vanguard reports that the suspects reportedly participated in many of the kidnap cases that happened in the state.
 
Meanwhile, one of the kidnappers, Phillip Isiga, confessed to receiving N50,000 as his share of the N2.5 million ransom. 
 
The two sisters, Rev. Sr. Perpetual Apo and Rev. Sr. Roseline Familade and their driver, Mr. Zwugwa Zibai, were abducted on May 15, on Benin-Ijebu Ode Expressway. 
 
They were rounded up when their vehicle broke down and they were waiting for assistance from their associates, who reside at a nearby site at Kajola village in Odigbo area of the state. 
 
Howeer, it will be recalled that the sisters were released a week after abduction. 
 
Although the kidnappers had demanded for a ransom of N20 million, the Catholic Church reportedly coughed out N2.5 million to secure the release of the sisters. 
 
The Catholic Bishop of Ondo Diocese, Most Rev Jude Arogundade, confirmed that the kidnappers had requested for N20 million ransom during the negotiation. 
 
Isiga, 25-year-old from Delta State, said he was introduced to the business by one Ufoma, who was also arrested.
