Mountain Top University, an institution belonging to the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Ogun State, will commence its academic programmes on Monday, December 21.
This was announced, on Tuesday, by the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Elijah Ayolabi, at a press conference on the campus.
The university would, according to the vice chancellor, lead the way in the fields of biotechnology, geophysics and music.
About 270 students are expected to participate in the first matriculation on Monday.
Ayolabi said: “On the 21st December, 2015, we shall have our grand opening ceremony at the Multipurpose Hall, MFM Prayer City, Kilometre 12, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ibafo. That same day, the Mountain Top University’s first matriculation shall take place alongside opening of new facilities in the university.
“The university will commence academic activities for 2015/2016 session with two colleges: College of Basic and Applied Sciences with the following programmes: Computer Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics; College of Humanities, Management and Social Sciences with programmes in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Industrial Relations and Personnel Management, Public Administration, Economics, English and Religious Studies.
“In 2016/17, the following programmes will be available for our prospective students: Biotechnology, Geophysics, Food Science and Technology, and Music.”
