Few weeks ago, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, was trailed with mixed reactions and wild criticisms from Nigerians on social media after he made some controversial comments while counselling the youths of his church on marriage and relationship.
The 74-year-old influential cleric had said; “Don’t marry a girl simply because she can sing! In the choir there are some people that can sing but they are fallen angels! Marry a prayer warrior! If a girl cannot pray for one hour, don’t marry her.
“Don’t marry a girl who is lazy! Don’t marry a girl who cannot cook, she needs to know how to do chores and cook because you cannot afford to be eating out all the time,” he was quoted as saying.
In apparent reaction to the criticisms, the world renowned preacher took to his twiter handle two days ago and commented that his messages were not for everybody.
Adeboye said, “My messages are not for everybody. So, I plead with you, ask God to speak to you specifically.”
