Contrary to media reports early Saturday that the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has retired from God’s service, a minister from the church said the famous clergyman has not retired or resigned.
According to the source, who doesn’t want his name mentioned as he was not authorized to speak for the church, Daddy G.O. (as Pastor Adeboye is fondly called) did not retire or resign as it’s been widely reported in the media.
“Pastor J.O. Obayemi is to oversee the Nigerian operations of the church while Daddy G.O. still remains the General Overseer of RCCG worldwide,” the minister said.
Until Pastor Adeboye’s announcement today, Pastor Obayemi was the Deputy General Overseer (DGO) in charge of Finance and a member of the RCCG governing council.
However, Pastor Obayemi now become the General Overseer of the RCCG in Nigeria.
