Pastor, Daughter Stab Nurse To Death Over Phone Battery Theft

A pastor and her daughter have allegedly stabbed a trainee nurse,Calista Uzoigwe, to death over phone battery.

According to an eye witness, the pastor, who is said to be in charge of a new generation church in Umuohiagwu III, Umuayamele village, Ngor Okpala local government area of Imo State got involved in the argument between her daughter, simply known as “the Pee” and Calista over allegation of phone theft on her daughter by the deceased.

A witness, who narrated the incident to LEADERSHIP sunday said that a phone battery and its charger was kept in the possession of Calista before it was stolen by the pastor’s daughter.

But the allegation was said to have not gone down well with the pastor who later confronted Calista, however, in the ensuing fracas, her daughter joined and in the process, both of them allegly beat up the deceased before she was finally stabbed by the pastor’s daughter with a knife.

Calista, 23 who hailed from Okpanku Community in Aninri area of Enugu State was said to have been brought in dead at the Holy Rosary Hospital, Emekuku in Owerri North where she was rushed to by a neigbour after she was stabbed.

Confirming the incident, a co-tenant to the pastor and medical doctor in charge of the hospital Calista was rushed to, said that Callista died immediately she was stabbed.

The medical doctor who admitted that the deceased was undergoing training in his clinic stated that he was not at the scene when the incident happened but recalled that he met the girl in a pool of her blood about 2:30 pm that fateful day.

The pastor and his wife said to hail from Ohubaa in Ohaji/Egbema LGA of the state are presently being held at Umuneke Ngor Divisional Police Station alongside another colleague of the pastor who wanted to aid him towards escaping, but the suspect, according to a witness, is on the run.

Effort to reach the police for confirmation of the incident proved abortive as the DPO in charge of Ngor Okpala area could not be reached as at the time of filling this report.
