Kaduna – Pastor Yohana Buru of Christ Evangelical and Intercessory Fellowship Ministries, Kaduna, on Saturday fed 400 prison inmates, mainly Muslims, at the Kaduna Central Prisons to mark the Eid el Kabir celebration.
Buru also provided food for 600 inmates of a Destitute Home located on Kano Road in the metropolis.
Presenting the food along with soft drinks and bathing soaps, the pastor said that the gesture was to enable the prisoners and the destitute to participate in the sallah celebration.
He called on well-meaning Nigerians to always remember and assist the less-privilege in the society.
“We share whatever we have so as to make them feel happy on this special day,” he said.
He stressed the need to straighten relationship between Muslims and Christians in the country, saying, “we are brothers and sisters and we must be united and live as one.”
He called on the government to do more in the welfare of prison inmates across the country.
Receiving the items at the destitute home, a former National Vice-President of People with Disability, Malam Rilwan Muhammed, thanked the pastor for remembering the inmates during the sallah.
Muhammed prayed God to strengthen Buru and provide for him so that he would continue to assist the less-privileged.
