Uniekgrace, a multi-talented billboard-charted singer-songwriter, has released a mesmerizing new song titled “Higher”
This vibrant Afrobeat/Afropop track sets the stage with an infectious dance groove that captivates from the first beat to the last, offering a compelling conviction of Uniekgrace’s unwavering devotion to being God’s ambassador on earth.
Uniekgrace’s intention extends beyond its infectious dance appeal; the song seeks to inspire listeners to embrace and celebrate the significance of God’s power and presence in their lives.
The power in the name of Jesus has saved me more times than I can count, » says Uniekgrace. « I have experienced many low moments as an independent artist but what always baffles me is the way God always lets me understand that I am still on top. I am on a journey, He reminds me. However, even as a Christian, I have doubted myself over and over; But the moment I realised that in my low moments, lifting the name of Jesus is my ticket to freedom and abundance, I had more peace of mind. HIGHER is my song of conviction in my faith as a Christian and I am fully unashamed of the gospel. It is an energetic afro-gospel sound that will shake off depression!
«The vibe from the start to finish of the song will make the listener want to listen again.
Creating this song with my producer took me through a lot of emotions, travelling through my up-to-date seven years journey as an independent artist and still feeling like a winner regardless of all the highs and many lows »

PROFESSIONAL WORK AND MUSIC
«I sing everywhere, even in the hospital hallways»
Uniekgrace has been working as a professional nurse for more than a decade, starting in America as a nurse assistant and eventually completing her Bachelor’s degree in Belgium where she now resides and practices.
If there was ever a challenging moment in her career, it was definitely during the lockdown period of 2020. « It was not easy going home from a shift and coming back the next day to discover we had lost patients again » she explains, «The worst moment was the day an isolated patient jumped from the fourth floor of the hospital window, shattering his skulls and dying on the spot. This is to be free from loneliness. God gave me a song from that incident to keep my sanity in check.
« This was a tough period but I know what music does for the soul and I took it upon myself to exude joy on the unit, which I very well did. My boss would ask me sometimes to go sit with certain patients after our morning rounds. He knew what would come out of it»
It is no wonder also why they call her « the singing nurse » or as some others in her work environment call her, « singing sunshine »
Coming across other controversial topics such as Euthanasia another topic that she boldly speaks her heart about. Being God’s ambassador on earth comes with a lot of soul-searching and a strong sense of self-identity.
