Asu Ekiye, fondly known as the “Prince of the Niger Delta,” is renowned for his distinctive musical style that beautifully weaves together the rich cultures and languages of Nigeria’s Niger Delta region. His fusion of Ijaw, Urhobo, Isoko, and English music has positioned him as a distinguished figure in culture-based gospel music in Nigeria.

Before heeding the call to the music ministry, Ekiye pursued a career in finance, serving as a Finance Executive and later as an auditor in a chartered accountancy firm. Eventually, he answered his higher calling, leading to the release of his award-winning album “Back to Base,” featuring the standout track “Woekilemo,” in December 2001.

Ekiye stands as a multi-award-winning gospel musician of great renown. Notably, he received the Channel O Best African Gospel Artiste award consecutively, showcasing his exceptional talent and impact.
