Ahead of the Christmas celebration which is only a few days away, House on The Rock has announced an outreach programme to reach the less-privileged located in some selected communities in Lagos to share gift items in the spirit of love, this yuletide season.
According to the leadership of the church, and the organizing committee of the Rock Foundation who are at the fore-front of the initiative, 2,400 families will receive food items via the outreach. Communities earmarked for the outreach include: Makoko, Ijesha, Jakande and Isale Eko.
The outreach which has been christened “Project SPREAD” is billed to take place on Saturday the 20th of December 2014. Founder and Pastor of the House on The Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin will also be on ground to distribute the food items to families in these communities.
“Christmas is a special time for us we celebrate the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ. It is also a time of sharing gifts because the coming of Jesus Christ into the world is the ultimate gift which humanity received.
It is only appropriate for us to extend gifts and indeed our love to those around us especially those who cannot afford to celebrate as elaborately as we can. This is why we are undertaking this initiative at a time like this.”
A statement from the organizers reads.
One of Nigeria’s most popular churches, House on The Rock is synonymous with several community initiatives around the state especially in the area of Education, and Healthcare.
